20 dec Reportage

A good thick layer of snow covered the streets of Stockholm today. Christmas carols could be heard in every corner and glittering lights decorate the city streets. Today Göta Källare was loaded with everything Christmassy – Christmas trees, ginger cookies and glimmering lights. As soon as people started to make theirway in you really could sense the anticipation. Christmas was about to be celebrated with a sparkling show at Hillsong.

Christmas is a time of expectations and the special atmosphere and in no other time a year do we act so traditionally as at Christmas. Is there anything better than the scents, the songs, and the memories of Christmas! But Christmas also brings a greater message.

Pastor Andreas Nielsen shared about the deep and real meaning of Christmas. That hope was born in manger about 2000 years ago. That reconciliation was born. That Christ was born - the son of God – he who died to bring humanity life. The bible says that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall have eternal life. The well known Christmas carol O holy nigh summarizes the message:

“A thrill of hope; the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was Born”

This is Christmas! Faith, hope and love.
Don't miss our Sunday service next week, December 27 at 4 pm at Göta Källare.
Merry Chistmas!
